Avondale Lodge No 2389

Avondale Lodge The Lodge was consecrated on Monday 6th April 1891 at the now demolished Town Hall, Middlewich. The ceremony was performed by Rt.Hon.Lord Egerton of Tatton, Provincial Grand Master.The Lodge takes its name from the Duke of Clarence and Avondale. The first regular meeting of the Lodge took place at the Kings Arms Hotel, Middlewich on Wednesday 13th May 1891.In the past the Lodge has held its regular meetings at the Boars Head Hotel, Middlewich followed by the Town Hall, Middlewich and then back to the Boars Head Hotel.Discussions took place in 1926 for the purpose of buying Kinderton Lodge, which at the time was owned by Brunner Mond and Co. Ltd (later to be incorporated into ICI Ltd).
