TLC Newsletter Spring 2016

TLC NewsGreetings and welcome to the Spring and first 2016 newsletter for the Cheshire TLC.

The A & E departments of the Cheshire Hospitals have in some instances reached crisis point as they continue to treat an ever increasing number of patients. Likewise the TLC is experiencing a rise in the number of TLC Bears being donated to the Children’s Emergency Departments. The total number of TLC Teddies donated in Cheshire is now 114,028

Sadly Frank Loftus (Area 3 Rep) was called to higher service at the end TLC News 2016 Aof last year and our commiserations go to his family.

Michael Shiels has now been appointed the Area 3 TLC Representative while Eric Skillen has taken over the reins for Area 1

We welcome them to the TLC family.

TLC2016_BThe Clifton Road, Birkenhead, Carol Concert was held on 17th December, led by the Port/sup> Sunlight ‘Lyceum Brass‘ band. The event was extremely well attended with everyone in good voice and there was a surprise appearance from Father Christmas. The proceeds from the evening £361 together with the proceeds of the Area 2 Spring lunch on 13th March was donated to the TLC.

Fund raising for the TLC certainly runs in the Mills family, following on from the fantastic donation from Lucy Mills, her grandfather WBro Don Mills (Seacombe Lodge No. 3468) raised a magnificent £200. Thanks also to the Brethren who comprise the ‘Cheshire Journeymen‘ for their generous donation resulting from their visit to 2 Scottish Lodges.

The TLC road show would be delighted to attend any Village Fetes, or suitable events in your Area which would welcome our display.
